As a kid, I always had a thing for sitting in the dark and watching the lights blink on and off at random." Now he says this fascination goes much further.

Has any one else heard about Maryor Murphy resinging and Donna Frye taking over??

San Diego - Major Murphy resigned this morning noting yesterday’s late night
California Supreme Court decision favoring the Donna Frye campaign. The 5 to 2
decision stated unequivocally that all votes cast would to be counted – a
broad ruling on “voter intent” which could throw the Ohio presidential
recount of “spoiled” African American votes back onto the political front
burner. The mayor also acknowledged the mounting pressure by City Attorney
Michael Aguirre and the intensification of the DA’s pension probe in his terse
two-paragraph letter of resignation.

In his briefly worded statement Mayor Murphy thanked San Diego voters and
especially the business community for their support. “The welfare of your
business has been the City’s business. I will continue to serve you, but not
as your mayor.”

The dramatic turn of events even surprised councilwoman Donna Frye who was
awoken this morning by the press outside her home. “I guess this is the start
of a new day for San Diego,” she stated as she faced a half-dozen reporters
and camera crews at her doorstep. “There are several items of the people’s
business, which we will put on the docket in our first month for the City
Council to consider. On April 12 at 10 AM we will take up the Living Wage
Campaign, the first of a series of measures to assure that all San Diego’s
working people will live with dignity. The Labor Council has assured me, that
we can work together in a campaign to guarantee that no working family will be
left behind.

Secondly, we will work with the homeless and homeless advocates to insure they
will now get our compassion rather than loitering tickets; this measure alone
could save the city millions in emergency hospitalizations, incarceration costs
and police overtime.” Despite her objection that it was too early for her to
fully articulate her plans, she laid out one further agenda item, which she
noted would surely rattle the “old boys club”. “The housing crisis needs
triage. I will propose that we reign in the real estate speculative market with
a 50% sales tax on the appreciated gain on apartment buildings, condo
conversions and larger investment properties. Investors will still be making a
killing and the city will raise an estimated $780 million dollars a year for the
next 10 years.” Without missing a beat she predicted that this single measure
would erase the city deficit, fund huge increases in the city’s contribution
to educational equity, maintain social services and begin an Affordable Housing
Trust Fund. “Landlords grossed billions from housing inflation, now it is
time for a public to share the wealth, which our whole community created.
Skyrocketing rents and perhaps the least affordable housing market in the
country deserves immediate action. I’ll propose that the City Council enable
non-profits, land trusts, cooperatives and the public sector to purchase
housing, which will perpetually be designated as ‘affordable’ and thus
outside the inflationary speculative market.” As she entered her home to get
ready to the today’s noon swearing-in ceremony she added… ”and San Diego
is going to be known as the 'Sunshine City', we are going into affordable solar
energy big-time.”

Reaction from the San Diego Realtors Association was swift and incredulous.
Reached by phone, local President Rob M. Blind stated that this last initiative
“threatens to eliminate the rise in property values for a decade. It would be
disastrous for our industry. It sounds like an April fools joke… it is
nothing short of municipal socialism,” he said emphatically. “Next she’ll
want a single-payer a health care system or some such scheme.”

Below is an article on how Canada and the United States were asked to step down from an Anglican group because of those country's permitting same sex marriage. I thought America was bad with it beliefs of gay marriage but obviously I can see we must have it better than some places. I still think its strange Americans would belong to such a religious group who were stricly for Christianity, but it is America.

Anyways I thought it was interesting and would like to see what other people think...

By ROBERT BARR

LONDON (AP) - Anglican primates agreed Thursday that the U.S. Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada would withdraw from a key body of the global Anglican Communion after failing to overcome internal church disagreements about the election of a gay bishop in the United States and the blessing of same-sex unions there and in Canada.

The agreement marked the first formal breach in the communion over the explosive issues of sexuality and biblical authority.

A statement from leaders of Anglican national churches who met this week in Northern Ireland also called on the two churches to explain their thinking on gay issues at another Anglican meeting in June.

The presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, Frank T. Griswold, said the debate would continue and that his fellow church leaders had made room "for a wide variety of perspectives."

"I am grateful that the Anglican Communion is still able to make room for different points of view so we can avoid schism and fracturing and stay together for the sake of the Gospel," Griswold said.

The U.S. church precipitated the most serious rift in the communion's history when it affirmed the election of V. Gene Robinson, who openly lives with a male partner, as bishop of New Hampshire. Both churches have been criticized by conservatives for sanctioning blessings of gay unions.

The two churches would temporarily step away from the Anglican Consultative Council, a key body for contact among the national churches and one of the four so-called "instruments of unity."

However, the Anglican primates also recommended a special hearing be held at the next council meeting in June to allow the North American churches to explain their actions on homosexuality.

"In the meantime, we ask our fellow primates to use their best influence to persuade their brothers and sisters to exercise a moratorium on public rites of blessing for same-sex unions and on the consecration of any bishop living in a sexual relationship outside Christian marriage," the statement said.

Griswold issued a brief statement stressing that discussions were continuing:

"These days have not been easy for any of us and the communique reflects a great deal of prayer and the strong desire to find a way forward as a communion in the midst of deep differences which have been brought into sharp relief around the subject of homosexuality."

"Clearly, all parts of the communique will not please everyone. It is important to keep in mind that it was written with a view to making room for a wide variety of perspectives."

The primates' communique reaffirmed a resolution adopted by all Anglican bishops in 1998 which declared that gay practices were "incompatible with Scripture" and opposed gay ordinations and same-sex blessings.

The communique said many of the 35 primates, or leaders of national churches, who met this week were "deeply alarmed that the standard of Christian teaching on matters of human sexuality" expressed in that 1998 resolution had "been seriously undermined by the recent developments in North America."

The Anglican Consultative Council is the body through which leaders of the national churches meet and consult in between the once-every-10-years Lambeth Conferences. The U.S. and the Canadian churches each send three delegates to the council, which is the only global Anglican body which includes bishops, priests and laity, said James Rosenthal, spokesman for the Anglican Communion.

The Americans and Canadians were asked to voluntarily withdraw, Rosenthal said.

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, the spiritual leader of the communion, issued no comment but planned to appear at a news conference on Friday.

Before the Northern Ireland meeting, Williams said the dispute had "weakened, if not destroyed, the sense that we are actually talking the same language within the Anglican Communion."

A commission headed by Irish Archbishop Robin Eames sharply criticized the American church for forging ahead on the gay issue without fully consulting the rest of the global communion, which is rooted in the Church of England.

The communique showed a marked lack of enthusiasm for Eames recommendations for strengthening the role of the archbishop of Canterbury. "We are cautious of any development which would seem to imply the creation of an international jurisdiction which could override our proper provincial autonomy," the communique said.

And whereas Eames' report criticized African and other bishops who have offered to serve as bishops for disaffected Episcopal congregations in the United States, the communique called on Williams to take steps to "to protect the integrity and legitimate needs of groups in serious theological dispute with their diocesan bishop, or dioceses in dispute with their provinces (national churches)."

Stayed home sick from school today because I was too tired after Bob Marley Fest yesterday. I had a really good time. The music was so damn awsome and dancing with my friends was good times. Natalie and I got lost at the begining of the night but we had fun dancing for a while just the two of us then we met a friend too. Eventually Daniel found us. Overall I had a really good time except it was a little to smokey for me. But it made me really sleepy so I slept in tell 10 this morning and made it a four day weekend.

My water is boiling!

I should find articles for my senior research paper, yuck.

I wish the rain would clear up so I could actually go outside with out freezing to death and being wet wet wet.

If I knew you were coming I would have baked a cake. Well actually I know Josh is coming so that is kind of the reason I am baking. That and I really love cake!!!!!!

School is really easy right now. First period I have 24 hour fitness. All I do in that class is run on the tredmill. It is really fun. I like starting off everyone of my days with working out. I have english second with Mrs. Moretti. She repeats the same thing over and over again. I want to yell at her to just shut up. We all understand what she is telling us and we are seniors not five years old. Luckly I have wonderful people in that class or else I think I would die. I still have yearbook every other day and thats all folks.

Saw the begining of the inaguration adress today during 24 hr. fitness. I was getting so angry as I watched. The way he worded everything pissed me off. He is talking about how war in natural and a part of the norm but he is saying it in a way that makes it sound all pretty. He started to talk about communism... Thats when I had to walk away before I started getting angry.
Communism is to Vietnam as
Blank is to Iraq
a. Imperialism
b. Terrorism
c. Capitalism
you decide. so needless to say that pissed me off. another four years.. As Correy said Bush round three here we go again.
